». Je réponds « Bonjour ! » et je paie avec des euros. Le café est chaud et bon. Le croissant est croustillant et délicieux.
English translation: Every morning, I go to the café near my home. I order a black coffee and a croissant. The waiter smiles and says, “Hello!” I reply, “Hello!” and pay with euros. The coffee is hot and tasty. The croissant is crispy and delicious.
English translation: I sit at a small table near the window. I watch people in the street: students, workers, dogs with their owners. Sometimes I see a friend and we say, “Hi!” We talk for two minutes, then continue with our day.
English translation: The café is quiet for an hour. I listen to some soft music and read a few pages of a French book. It’s a good time to learn new words. Today, I learned “éclair” (a dessert) and “parapluie” (an object for rain).
». Je marche vers mon bureau. Il fait beau aujourd’hui : le ciel est bleu et il n’y a pas de vent. Je me sens bien et prêt à travailler.
English translation: When I finish my coffee, I leave the café. I say “Thank you” to the waiter, and he replies, “Goodbye!” I walk to my office. It’s nice today: the sky is blue and there’s no wind. I feel good and ready to work.
Elle me demande comment va ma journée. Je réponds : « Très bien, merci ! »
English translation: At noon, I return to the same café. This time, I order a salad and an orange juice. I chat with the waitress. Her name is Sophie, and she has worked here for three years. She asks how my day is going. I reply: “Very well, thank you!”
English translation: In the evening, I think about my day. The café is a small ritual that brings me joy. It’s simple, but it’s important to me. I recommend this café to my friends. And you? Do you like going to cafés? What’s your favorite food or drink?
